Sun Care Training Newsletter No. 26

From 6:30 p.m. on July 26, 2018, our president gave us an explanation of the "Comprehensive Services Program."
What is the Comprehensive Services Program? Preventive care and daily living support are intended for people aged 65 and over. The program expands Koto Ward's diverse services and initiatives according to each person's condition and needs, while supporting independence and participation in society.

1. Diversifying the types of services, simplifying procedures, and reducing users' out-of-pocket costs
2. Having older adults serve as supporters contributes to preventive care
3. Making it possible to engage in preventive care with trusted friends in familiar, nearby places

[Background] 1. With 2025 as the target year, when the baby-boom generation would reach age 75 and over, the goal was to establish a community-based integrated care system in which medical care, long-term care, prevention, housing, and daily living support are provided as one, enabling people to continue living in their familiar communities in their own way through the end of their lives, even if they require intensive care.

In Koto Ward, local facilities are being made available for Genki-Up Training, while the Urban Renaissance Agency is working with the community to use housing-complex meeting halls as venues for resident-led preventive care and daily living support services. Efforts are underway to build an integrated community care system. We too must fulfill our role in sharing information with the local community.
