Sun Care Center Training Newsletter No. 21

On Sunday, July 17, 2016, we enjoyed a welcome break from the rainy-season weather as we attended a basic lifesaving course at Joto Fire Station.
Twelve participants who had taken the course three years earlier attended for renewal, while seven took it for the first time.

Each participant practiced cardiopulmonary resuscitation, rescue breathing, and defibrillation using an AED.
The seven to eight minutes before an ambulance arrives can make a critical difference to an injured or ill person's chances of survival.

Prompt first aid is important, even when there is only a small chance of successful resuscitation. Everyone approached the training with great seriousness and commitment.
At the end of the course, we received certificates of completion.
