This session focused on practical caregiving skills, including repositioning, transfers, and changing diapers.
Participants practiced changing diapers in bed, including cleansing, perineal care, and diaper placement while speaking to the service user throughout the process.
Participants practiced repositioning a person in bed, helping them sit at the edge of the bed, and using their remaining abilities to transfer from the bedside to a portable toilet.
Speaking to the person can motivate them and draw out their remaining abilities.
We practiced using care equipment that facilitates moving a person up, down, left, and right in bed.
